As a licensed professional Realtor I am the first to acknowledge that not all "licensed" professionals are necessarily equal in their capability, credibility and performance. When you find that one "rare" individual who performs to a higher standard, someone who you trust implicitly to represent your best interests you grab them and hold on with both hands!
That has been both my professional and personal experience with Lee Sellick, Owner and Home Inspector of Home Inspections Northwest Inc. Our association with Lee goes back to before I was a Realtor when he did our first inspection on a new construction home that we had built for us in 1996. Since then he has represented us in 3 other personal transactions, our vacation beach home in Waldport, our Condo when we downsized (also new construction) and just in this passed month another vacation beach home that we have purchased. Don't "actions speak louder than words" and in our case that is certainly true... we put our money where our mouth is and utilize the same person that we would refer you to.
From a professional perspective one of the attributes that I value in Lee is his ability to explain to buyer clients the findings of his inspection. Typically there is a "laundry" list from the inspection which can seem quite overwhelming to even the most seasoned buyers. Lee is able to give a balanced perspective to the clients explaining what is essential or important to investigate further and what would be general maintenance issues that one should expect as part and parcel of homeownership. His ability to also give approximate costs to repairs is invaluable as too is his list of referrals to various contractors for doing the required repairs. He has always been available after the inspection to talk with clients if they need to discuss further issues or concerns.
If you are looking for someone to represent your best interests then Lee Sellick would be a good choice for you to make.

During the course of our shopping for our first home we had two homes inspected. Lee made the whole decision process much easier. He was very thorough at explaining all the things he found and his recommendations on how to remedy the problems.
We ended up buying a home built in the 40's and without his expertise we would have hesitated in going forward. The home is beautiful and we feel extra secure knowing that it has been checked out and the electrical & plumbing hazards were corrected as part of our conditions to go ahead on the sale.
